    Extended trading hours for holiday resort towns

    Six more coastal towns have been designated holiday resort towns and been granted extended trading hours by the State Government.
     
    Productivity and Labour Relations Minister Yvonne Henderson today announced the addition of Guilderton, Seabird, Ledge Point, Lancelin, Jurien and Cervantes to the towns allowed special tourism shopping hours.
     
    Mrs Henderson said that from January 1, retail shops in these towns would be able to trade till 9 pm, including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
     
    She said Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day were not included in the exemptions.
     
    Mrs Henderson said the Government allowed extended trading arrangements in holiday resort towns at the request of the local governments.
     
    Other designated towns in the area were Dongara and Port Denison, Port Gregory, Horrocks and Kalbarri.
     
    Further south, towns with extended trading were Two Rocks, Yanchep, Rockingham, Mandurah, Busselton, Dunsborough, Manjimup, Margaret River, Augusta, Denmark and York.
