If a Broome sunset sounds enticing, then the State Government can offer the perfect escape route in one of its new touring maps.

The new Kimberley Touring Map covers the Kimberley region from the south of Broome to the Northern Territory. It has been completely revised since the previous edition.

Land Information Minister John Bowler said the latest release in StreetSmart Touring Map series offered tourists a one-stop shop for information about the Kimberley region and all it had to offer.

“This new touring map, which was produced with the help and input of local councils and visitor centres, offers many ideas for holiday destinations, as well as simple and clear directions to ensure a stress-free and direct journey,” Mr Bowler said.

The new Kimberley StreetSmart Touring Map highlights tourist spots such as the Bungle Bungle Range in Purnululu National Park, Lake Argyle and Wolfe Creek Crater. Warning notes are also included in the map to alert people to potential dangers in the region.

“This new map features town enlargements of Broome, Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek, Kununurra and Wyndham,” the Minister said.

“Each town features a written description of things to do and see, as well as a road names index.”

Similar to others in the StreetSmart series, the new Kimberley Touring Map is available from the Department of Land Information, selected newsagents, bookshops and visitors’ centres.
