Land Information Minister John Bowler has announced the appointment of former National Party deputy leader Monty House as the chairman for the transition advisory committee for the Department of Land Information (DLI).
“Throughout his varied career, Mr House distinguished himself as an outstanding leader among his peers, as a past Member for Stirling and former Minister for Primary Industry and Fisheries,” Mr Bowler said
Mr House’s appointment signals another step forward in DLI’s progression towards becoming a statutory authority with commercial powers.
“Mr House’s wide-ranging experience and knowledge of both the government and private sector make him an ideal chairman, prepared and capable of guiding DLI into the future,” the Minister said.
“He has continued to demonstrate his abilities outside his political life, and continues to command a great deal of respect in the community.
“As chairman, he will provide myself and DLI’s chief executive Grahame Searle with invaluable support and advice.”
