A contract has been awarded to carry out roadworks on Albany Highway - approximately 20km of road north of Kojonup.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan today announced that RoadCare Pty Ltd had been awarded the contract at a cost of $1.4 million.
“The works will involve shoulder drainage reconditioning and seal widening of the existing road,” Ms MacTiernan said.
“The work will improve road safety by providing a wider road and more forgiving roadside environment. This work is also part of the overall strategy to upgrade the Albany Highway.”
The project, which will be managed by Main Roads Western Australia Great Southern Region, is scheduled to commence this month, with work estimated to be completed prior to January 2006.
