Housing and Works Minister Francis Logan will be attending next week’s Cityscape Design Conference in London.
The conference, which will include speakers and delegates from all over the world, will focus on innovations and trends in international urban design and construction. It will consider several areas of relevance to Western Australian housing, including sustainability and public housing.
Conference forums will also be conducted on the redevelopment of space between buildings, the pedestrian environment of open spaces and parks, the regeneration of public housing, sustainability through urban design, creating successful neighbourhoods and urban design to reduce crime.
Mr Logan will also be meeting representatives of community and government groups involved in public housing, urban regeneration and the re-adaptive use of heritage buildings.
He will be accompanied by his chief-of-staff, Malcolm Bradshaw, and the acting director general of the Department of Housing and Works, Bob Thomas.
