Local Government and Regional Development Minister John Bowler will today and tomorrow meet with local government representatives in the Wheatbelt region.
The president and chief executive officer of every shire in the Wheatbelt region were invited to meetings in Narrogin, Merredin, Northam and Moora, not only to meet the Minister, but to discuss first-hand the issues affecting the region and councils.
“It is great to get out and meet with local councils throughout the Wheatbelt,” Mr Bowler said.
“The Gallop Government is ensuring that regional Western Australia receives its fair share and the visit to the region is a great opportunity for me as Local Government Minister to meet with councils and discuss the issues that impact on them.
“I have been amazed at the response, with 42 of the 44 of the Wheatbelt councils taking the opportunity for me to meet them.”
The Minister will meet with 14 local governments in Narrogin this morning, before greeting a further 11 at Merredin this afternoon. Tomorrow, he will see 10 councils in the morning in Northam, before travelling to Moora to meet another six councils.
