Agriculture Minister Kim Chance today announced funding of up to $16,455 under the Regional Headworks Program (RHP) to assist with vital services to an established business in Dalwallinu.

Jolly and Sons, an agricultural machinery and Nissan and Ford dealership, will receive funding for the provision of electricity, water and communications required in the construction of new premises to the south of Dalwallinu.

“The RHP is part of the Gallop Government’s $80million Regional Investment Fund which is designed to encourage, promote and support sustainable development in regional Western Australia,” Mr Chance said.

“This project will provide numerous benefits for the community of Dalwallinu and regional WA.”

Mr Chance said Jolly and Sons was to be congratulated for undertaking a project that would not only allow its business to expand and create employment opportunities for an additional five people but would also provide a service that was not currently available in regional WA.

The company intends to incorporate an accredited Interstate Quarantine Registered Premise for cleaning of Agricultural machinery in its new premises. Currently, any imported machinery that is transported in a sealed container is a high risk potential carrier of exotic pests and disease and needs to be transported to the Perth metropolitan area for cleaning.

The Minister said the establishment of an accredited quarantine facility in Dalwallinu would help reduce the cost of agricultural machinery for customers in regional areas and assist the Quarantine process in WA.

“The Gallop Government is committed to improving the quality of services to all Western Australians, wherever they live,” Mr Chance said.

The RHP is one of a range of measures to assist in attracting investment, increasing jobs, improving skills and access to services in the regions.
