Tourism Minister Bob Kucera has applauded the appointment of two Western Australians to the board of Australia's premier tourism industry advisory body.
The Federal Government announced that the new Tourism Australia Board would include Perth businesswoman Valerie Davies and tourism operator Karen Jacobs.
“To have two Western Australian voices on the national tourism board is a great outcome for our State,” Mr Kucera said.
“I wish to pass on my congratulations to both Valerie and Karen, and look forward to working with them in their new roles.”
Valerie Davies is the Director of One.2.One Communications and a former Perth journalist. In 1997 she won the WA Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award.
Karen Jacobs, from Mandurah, is a stalwart in indigenous tourism development in WA, operating her own tourism business, Kwillana Dreaming Aboriginal Tour Company, and active in the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Committee.
