Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore has announced a $3,047 grant for tennis in the Midlands.
The grant is from the Sport Lottery Fund Country Package.
Mr Moore said it would be used by the WA Lawn Tennis Association Zone 3 to support a development plan for the sport throughout the region.
The plan included coach education and player and administration development.
The Minister said the State Government was well aware of the important role sport played in country life.
“That’s why I am delighted we have been able to help with this project through the very successful Sports Lottery Fund Country Package,” he said.
“It is through development programs like these that enable regional areas to meet many of their own needs and get more from their sport.”
The Sports Lottery Fund Country Package is a Ministry of Sport and Recreation initiative.
