Sport and Recreation Minister Norman Moore has announced a $2000 funding package for soccer in the Great Southern region.
Mr Moore said that the grant was from the State Government’s Sports Lottery Fund Country Package.
It was going to the Great Southern Regional Soccer Development Committee and would benefit over 2000 students in 30 schools where the sport was played.
The committee planned to develop junior soccer programs as well as educating officials and club administration.
“I am delighted to have been able to support this program,” Mr Moore said.
“The Sports Lottery Fund Country Package allows groups in regional areas to develop tomorrow’s champions.
“It also helps people who just want to take part in, and enjoy, sport.”
The Sports Lottery Fund Country Package is a Ministry of Sport and Recreation initiative.
