Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Rob Johnson is travelling to New Zealand for the annual meeting of the Ministerial Council on Immigration and Multicultural Affairs.
Mr Johnson will meet with his State and Territory counterparts, as well as the Federal Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, Philip Ruddock, and the New Zealand Minister of Immigration, Lianne Dalziel.
A range of recommendations relating to the multicultural affairs area will be considered at the meeting.
“It is also a chance to keep abreast of what other States and the Commonwealth are working on in relation to the immigration and multicultural affairs portfolio,” Mr Johnson said.
