The Minister Responsible for WA Drug Abuse Strategy, Rhonda Parker, said today she stands by comments made in her report to Parliament on July 1.

“During a meeting in Switzerland with Professor Uchtenhagen, he referred to political pressure from the Swiss Government to come up with positive results for the country’s heroin trial,” Mrs Parker said.

“Contrary to interpretations by the Opposition and some media outlets, I have not said at any time that that pressure ultimately resulted in him changing his report accordingly.

“The issue will be fully addressed during the motion in Parliament tomorrow.”
