High Wycombe Out of School Care Centre Inc will be the new managers of a family centre in High Wycombe, Family and Children’s Services Minister Rhonda Parker announced today.
Mrs Parker said Family and Children’s Services had allocated $25,000 a year to manage the service until December 31, 2001.
“Family centres are community facilities designed to increase the well-being of individuals and families in the local community by providing a venue and support for a variety of services, programs and activities,” she said.
“High Wycombe Out of School Care Centre Inc will identify the needs of individuals and families in the local community and co-ordinate services to address them.
“The centre will be available for Government and non-Government organisations, groups and individuals to meet for activities such as playgroups, toy libraries, parenting programs, health and fitness activities, adult learning and individual and group counselling services.”
Mrs Parker said the funding demonstrates the State Government’s commitment to strengthening families and providing support for community services.
