Leader of the Government in the Legislative Council George Cash said today that while he regretted the need to stand down as a Minister, his priority was to regain full health as soon as possible.

Mr Cash said while he would not be in a ministerial role, he would still retain his Parliamentary seat as the Member for the North Metropolitan region and would stand for the next election.

"While restoring my health is my immediate goal at this stage, I will continue to represent my constituents and will still do whatever possible to ensure the Government's re-election next year," he said.
