Newman will undergo a significant facelift as the State Government progresses a major residential land release which will also improve community facilities in the town.
The first stage of LandCorp’s East Newman estate would see the community allocated 31 lots by public ballot.
The development will provide a social boost to the area with quality open spaces, landscaped gardens, shaded areas, a playground, dual-use paths for walking and cycling, and an amphitheatre for community events.
The ballot will be held at 3:30pm on Thursday, September 11, at the Council Chambers in Newman.
LandCorp is developing an initial release of 60 single residential lots, with 31 to be balloted to the public. The lots are located off Daniels and Braeside Drives and range from 402sqm up to 830sqm, with prices starting from $160,000 to $195,000.
The remaining 26 lots in the release have been allocated to resource companies and Government agencies to house the permanent workforce in the region.
Ballot applications, which close at 4pm on Friday, September 5, will be limited to one per person, and preference will be given to local residents. Ballot submissions must include an unconditional finance offer, and potential buyers are urged to start securing finance as soon as possible.
Successful purchasers will be required to build within LandCorp’s 30-month construction time frame for homes in the Pilbara.
Landcorp will also be working to improve builder capacity in the town and is seeking Expressions of Interest to develop three display homes in the first stage.
