LandCorp is releasing 11 residential lots for sale in Collie to help meet demand for new homes generated by tourism and industrial growth in the South-West town.
The lots are part of the Buckingham Way subdivision and will be sold by private treaty from 9am on Saturday, July 26.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan, who visited Collie in mid-May, said the release would build on the existing infrastructure of an adjoining, established subdivision.
“The Buckingham Way estate is situated in an ideal location in Collie,” Ms MacTiernan said.
“These lots form part of Stage One and will appeal to first homebuyers, existing Collie homebuyers wishing to upgrade, and empty-nesters seeking a community-based lifestyle in a scenic location.”
The serviced blocks range in size from 759sqm to 947sqm and are priced from $120,000 to $135,000. Purchasers will be required to complete construction within 30 months of settlement to ensure the land release makes more houses available on the market.
Civil works at the site are due to finish in September and titles are expected to be available in November.
Collie-Wellington MLA Mick Murray said demand for new homesites in Collie was growing due to a strong economy benefitting from increased employment opportunities in mining, power production, service industries and tourism.
“There is the potential to develop more than 300 additional lots on land adjoining the Buckingham Way subdivision over the next 10 years if the market continues as it is,” Mr Murray said.
