Small Business Minister Margaret Quirk today encouraged small and medium-sized business enterprises to nominate for the 2008 Telstra Business Awards.
“These prestigious awards recognise the achievements of small and medium businesses across the nation,” Ms Quirk said.
“Businesses in WA have been well-represented in the past and we want to ensure that we have the best opportunity of showing the rest of the country the expertise and professionalism that WA companies bring to the business community.”
The Minister said the Telstra Business Awards had encouraged thousands of Australian businesses to achieve greater success since its inception in 1992.
“This year, the award categories have changed to better reflect the current business climate,” she said.
“The awards are now open to small business enterprises that employ up to 200 staff, rather than last year’s limit of eligible businesses having between one and 100 employees.
“Additionally, a new category - the Social Responsibility Award - has been added to the list of awards.
“This new award will recognise businesses that demonstrate leadership and make contributions to the environment, education or the community.”
Nominations are open until March 27. For more information, contact Margi Patrick on (03) 8627 8483 or email Margi.Patrick@team.telstra.com.
