Acting Premier Eric Ripper today made the following comments in relation to a Department for Planning and Infrastructure inquiry into the actions of two public servants.

“Under the Public Sector Management Act 1994, the disciplining of public servants below CEO level is a matter for the relevant employing authority, not the Minister,” Mr Ripper said.

“All comment on this matter should therefore be addressed to the Director General of DPI.

“In relation to criticisms of the CCC, the State Government has established an independent watchdog in the form of the Parliamentary Inspector, currently Malcolm McCusker, QC. Any concerns about the CCC’s operations should be addressed to him.”
