Darlington Primary School’s $2.4million upgrade was officially opened today by Housing and Works Minister and Midland MLA Michelle Roberts.
Mrs Roberts said the upgrade, which included a new art and craft room, renovated library and upgraded classrooms, was an enormous boost for the local community.
“The fully-renovated library provides a wonderful space for learning and research, while the new art and craft room allows students to express their creativity and take part in hands-on, activity-based programs.” she said.
“The six classrooms that were refurbished in the upgrade now offer teachers and students an improved learning environment.”
Other improvements at the school include a new canteen and upgrades to the entrance and administration areas and car park.
Swan Hills MLA Jaye Radisich said the new and upgraded facilities looked fantastic and the school community was proud of the improved appearance and comfort of their school.
“The support of Darlington Primary School’s parents, teachers and P&C has been incredible throughout the upgrade process,” Ms Radisich said.
The Minister said the Carpenter Government was using the State’s strong economy to provide better education facilities to all young Western Australians.
