    The Margaret River office of the Vasse Small Business Centre will be officially opened today.

    “This facility will provide a vital information service to those enterprising individuals in the area who are trying to get their business ideas off the ground,” said Small Business Minister Norm Marlborough.

    “The Small Business Centre Network is working well throughout the State, and the Margaret River office is a welcome addition.”

    The network has 26 centres from Kununurra to Esperance, including seven in the metropolitan area.

    Of the $2.83million in core funding allocated to the project, 74 per cent is being spent in regional centres.

    “The Margaret River office provides geographical convenience for the local business community by bringing small business expertise and guidance right to their doorstep,” Mr Marlborough said.

    “The business community, including the Shires of Augusta Margaret River and Busselton and the local Chambers of Commerce, are to be congratulated for their ongoing support for this office.”

    The Carpenter Government has three major small business objectives:
    • providing a strong economic climate for small business;
    • providing better services for small business; and
    • achieving the best possible use of the services available.
