- $103,300 in grants to support community events and projects around the State
Western Australian communities from Derby to Esperance will share in $103,300 of Liberal National Government grants to support their important road safety initiatives.
Deputy Premier and Road Safety Minister Liza Harvey said the latest round of community grants from the State Government's Road Trauma Trust Account would support events as well as projects, and all the grant recipients would be working in their own locality to reduce crashes and road fatalities.
Ms Harvey said this took the total number of grants this financial year to $213,061, which have been paid to community groups to address the road safety issues in their local area.
"This Liberal National Government is passionate about supporting the community to build on and promote our important road safety messages through their vast networks and activities," she said.
"These community grants are an important component in reducing road trauma from a local perspective, and the initiatives put forward by people and groups who understand the need and influence of grassroots level involvement is always pleasing."
