    • New primary schools for students in Aveley, Forrestdale, Meadow Springs and Southern River
    • Investment of $83.2 million to meet the needs of the growing population

Four new primary schools will open in 2019 to meet the needs of families living in Perth's rapidly developing suburbs.

"Confidence in public schools continues to grow and the Liberal National Government is responding to increasing student enrolments in growing areas of Perth with four new schools for the 2019 school year," Education Minister Peter Collier said.

"In addition, temporary facilities will open next year for kindergarten and pre-primary students ahead of the completion of each school's permanent buildings, so that young children can start their education in these new schools."

The new school in Aveley North will be built for 540 students at cost of $17.3 million and will ease enrolment pressure on Aveley Primary School and Ellen Stirling Primary School.

The Forrestdale South West school will also be built for 540 students at a cost $17.3 million, providing enrolment relief to nearby Piara Waters Primary School and Harrisdale Primary School.

In Perth's south-east, at a cost of $17.3 million, the school on Marnbu Road in Southern River will have capacity for 540 students and help with enrolments at Bletchley Park Primary School.

Near Mandurah, the school in Meadow Springs North will ease enrolment pressure on Meadow Springs Primary School and Lakelands Primary School.  It will be built for 430 students at a cost of $15.5 million.

"The schools will each be air-cooled and have general teaching buildings, an early childhood building, music and art/craft facilities, an administration building, library, covered assembly area and canteen, landscaped courtyards, hard courts, an oval, staffroom and parking," Mr Collier said.

"They will also be equipped with the latest technology to support children's education."
