    • Karratha Enterprise Hub gets the green light
    • Capacity for up to 25 businesses in co-working environment
    • $2 million investment through Royalties for Regions Pilbara Cities initiative

A transformational project that aims to expand and diversify businesses in the West Pilbara is a step closer with a $2 million investment through the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program announced today.

Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said the Karratha Enterprise Hub would be a vibrant and innovative co-working and business support centre aiming to minimise barriers to entry for new start-ups.

"A healthy and thriving small business sector is essential to the diversification of the Pilbara and will contribute to an improved quality of life for residents," Mr Redman said.

"The Pilbara currently has less than half the number of businesses per capita compared to the WA average, with the local economy dominated by the resource and construction sector.

"The enterprise hub will enable entrepreneurial ideas to become reality and facilitate the growth and expansion of existing small businesses, which supports the small business priority pillar of the Pilbara Regional Investment Blueprint."

The Karratha Enterprise Hub, delivered by Business Centre Pilbara, will be a vibrant and flexible space incorporating co-working areas, incubation suites, meeting rooms and space for business and community events.

"The project will also enable Business Centre Pilbara to deliver enhanced business support and mentoring services to the wider West Pilbara, including Onslow and Tom Price," the Minister said.

"This is another example of how Royalties for Regions investment is supporting economic diversification to continue to strengthen regional economies."
