    • Almost 100,000 recreational vessels can now be registered online
    • DoTDirect account enables a number of transactions

More than 170,000 West Australians are saving time by using the Liberal National Government's online service to securely pay their boat, trailer and car registration all in one place.

Transport Minister Bill Marmion said the DoTDirect online service had continued to expand and slash unnecessary red tape, with boat registration payments added to the list of transactions now able to be completed through a DoTDirect account.

"Online registration is now available to almost 100,000 recreational vessels," Mr Marmion said.

"Access to DoTDirect has provided registered boat owners with a fast, convenient and safe way to pay their registration and update all of their boat details online.

"Use of emerging technologies to reduce red tape provides more choice to West Australians and saves both the customer and the Government, time and money in administrative costs.

"The State Government wants to ensure recreational boaters, their friends and families spend as much time on the water as possible."

Customers using a DoTDirect account can complete a number of transactions including payment of registration and licences, updating personal details, transferring vehicles, checking vehicle and licence expiry dates, and reviewing demerit points in one online location.  The DoTDirect service can also be used with all mobile devices.

Added functionality and transactions will continue to be rolled out to the DoTDirect online platform.
