    • 88 Regional Grants Scheme recipients announced across regional WA
    • Made possible by the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program

Regional Development Minister Terry Redman has announced the successful grant recipients under the Regional Grants Scheme to improve and develop infrastructure and services in the Peel region.

The Regional Grants Scheme is an initiative of the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program for community, public and not-for-profit organisations.

Mr Redman said the State Government would invest $10 million in the scheme in 2016-17, offering grants between $50,001 and $300,000.

"The scheme also helps smaller, community-driven projects that make a real difference in the regions," he said.

"This round of grants will provide $1.5 million towards 10 projects for the Peel region, including $250,000 to the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale for static water supplies for Jarrahdale's emergency water.

"It also includes $112,000 to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation for the Bibbulmun Track - Murray River bridge.

"In addition to the Regional Grants Scheme, Royalties for Regions has made some major investments in the Peel region, such as the Transform Peel project ($49.3 million), Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre redevelopment ($11 million) and the Mandurah Traffic Bridge ($8.8 million)."
