    • 88 Regional Grants Scheme recipients announced across regional WA
    • Made possible by the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program

Regional Development Minister Terry Redman has announced the successful grant recipients under the Regional Grants Scheme to improve and develop infrastructure and services in the Goldfields-Esperance region.

The Regional Grants Scheme is an initiative of the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program for community, public and not-for-profit organisations.

Mr Redman said the State Government would invest $10 million in the scheme in 2016-17, offering grants between $50,001 and $300,000.

"The scheme also helps smaller, community-driven projects that make a real difference in the regions," he said.

"This round of grants will provide $1,628,496 towards 10 projects for the Goldfields-Esperance region, including $300,000 to the Esperance Volunteer Sea Search Rescue Group Inc. for the replacement of the rescue vessel.

"It also includes $130,932 for St John Ambulance Kambalda to upgrade their sub-centre including a new roof, solar power, signage and upgrades to the bathroom, kitchen and reception area.

"In addition to the Regional Grants Scheme, Royalties for Regions has made some major investments in the Goldfields-Esperance region such as the Ray Finlayson's Sporting Complex, and the Leonora Office and Administration Centre."
