Regional Development Minister Terry Redman has announced the successful grant recipients under the Regional Grants Scheme to improve and develop infrastructure and services in the Gascoyne region.
The Regional Grants Scheme is an initiative of the Liberal National Government's Royalties for Regions program for community, public and not-for-profit organisations.
Mr Redman said the State Government would invest $10 million in the scheme in 2016-17, offering grants between $50,001 and $300,000.
"The scheme also helps smaller, community-driven projects that make a real difference in the regions," he said.
"This round of grants will provide $1,412,567 towards seven projects for the Gascoyne region, including $299,970 for the Shire of Shark Bay to hold the Dirk Hartog Voyage of Discovery: Shark Bay 1616 Festival celebrating the 400th anniversary of Dirk Hartog landing at Cape Inscription.
"It also includes $100,000 for the Carnarvon Christian School towards the construction of a new pre-primary classroom.
"In addition to the Regional Grants Scheme, other key Royalties for Regions investment in the Gascoyne region includes $22 million to the Ningaloo Centre in Exmouth and $9.04 million towards the Gascoyne River Crossing at Gascoyne Junction."
