The results of a major upgrade of Halls Head College in Western Australia's fast-growing Peel region have been unveiled, with state-of-the-art classrooms and high-tech facilities.
Education Minister Peter Collier visited the college in Mandurah today to officially open the new buildings, which include cutting-edge laboratories for science.
"Halls Head College provides students with a broad range of subjects and opportunities to develop their individual passions and talents," Mr Collier said.
"Teachers are working in a vibrant place where they can impart the knowledge and skills students need for future study, training and careers to match our rapidly changing world."
Along with new science facilities, the upgrades include:
- design and technology facilities
- gymnasium
- dance studio
- digital design classroom
- music studio.
"Whether students are keen on maths and science, the arts, sport or technology, there is something to interest everyone in these new buildings," the Minister said.
Mr Collier said the college featured a Big Picture Academy for students who would benefit from alternative options for study or employment.
"The college is also developing partnerships with the mining and resources industry to create opportunities for students," he said.
The Minister said the upgrade was evidence of the State Government's commitment to providing outstanding schools where students could achieve their best.
