    • 1,724 people have a completed plan
    • Levels of satisfaction continue to be positive

The State Government's WA National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) My Way trial continues to support people with disability to achieve positive outcomes, with the latest report showing 90 per cent of goals are being achieved.

Disability Services Minister Helen Morton said people with disability were continuing to benefit from the increased choice and control they had over the supports and services they required.

"Now that we are three quarters of the way into the two-year trial there are many individuals, especially in the Lower South-West, who have completed and reviewed multiple plans, making the consistently high achievement of plan goals even more pleasing," Mrs Morton said.

"When speaking with individuals and families involved in the trial, I consistently hear how choice, flexibility and the localised approach have been key contributors to the benefits they are experiencing.

"There are now 100 endorsed providers that provide a wider range of supports and services, allowing people with disability and their families to choose what best suits them.  We cannot underestimate the key role service providers play in supporting individuals to turn their plans into reality and achieve their goals.

Overall, the quarter six report showed that 2,058 people are now eligible to access supports and services through the WA NDIS My Way trial with no waitlist for people applying to be part of the trial.

The Minister said discussions between the Australian and State governments about the future governance arrangements of an NDIS in WA were already under way.

"I will be seeking to have conversations with the community to ensure we develop a model that best meets people's needs and is nationally consistent with the principles of the NDIS," she said.
