- Latest tranche of Regional Grants Scheme and Community Chest Fund
- $20 million will be made available for large and small projects
- Made possible by State Government's Royalties for Regions program
Applications will soon be open for the latest round of funding through the State Government's Royalties for Regions' Regional Grants Scheme and Community Chest Fund.
Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said the Royalties for Regions investment would continue to improve services and grow prosperity in regional Western Australia.
The scheme is aimed at projects which help attract investment, increase job opportunities and improve the quality of life in the regions. Large grants from $50,001 to $300,000 are available as well as one-off grants of up to $50,000 to support smaller local projects.
"These grant programs support region-specific priorities that are driven by local communities to assist the development of infrastructure, services and community projects intended to build vibrant regions with strong economies," Mr Redman said.
"Hundreds of diverse projects and organisations across regional WA have significantly benefited from the grants in recent years."
WA's nine Regional Development Commissions will oversee the successful projects, with $15 million available under the scheme and $5 million under the fund for the 2016 calendar year.
Regional communities will benefit from a 50 per cent increase to both the scheme and the fund. Each of the nine Regional Development Commissions will receive $1.67 million from the Regional Grants Scheme and $556,000 from the Community Chest Fund.
The next round of funding for both the scheme and the fund will open on Monday, January 11, 2016 and close on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
The Regional Grants Scheme and Community Chest Fund is a Royalties for Regions initiative that aims to improve economic and community infrastructure, and services in regional WA
