- World number one to represent the USA with rising star Jack Sock
- Nick Kyrgios confirmed for second Australian team
- State Government is a proud Hopman Cup founding sponsor through Tourism WA
Tennis superstar Serena Williams has confirmed she will return to Perth Arena in January for Hopman Cup 2016.
The world number one will represent the United States of America alongside rising star Jack Sock, who makes his Hopman Cup debut after breaking into the world's top 30 this year.
Also announced today is Nick Kyrgios as one half of Australia Green. His partner will be named soon.
Tourism Minister Kim Hames welcomed the announcement of the latest players to join an already stellar Hopman Cup line-up.
"Perth is again set to host a truly world-class competition," Dr Hames said.
"Serena Williams will start her 2016 season at the Hopman Cup, just as she did in 2015 before one of the best years in her career - winning three grand slam titles.
"Local and visiting sports fans are already spoilt for choice with Andy Murray and Heather Watson representing Great Britain and, for the first time ever, two Australian teams at the Hopman Cup.
"Fans will also have the chance to farewell Lleyton Hewitt who will be playing for Australia Gold with Perth's own Casey Dellacqua, and welcome the next generation of Australian stars in Kyrgios."
The Minister said the State Government was proud to be a major and founding sponsor of the Hopman Cup through Tourism WA.
"The State Government's support of the Hopman Cup started when the tournament began in 1989 and, thanks to a new agreement signed last year, the event has been secured for Western Australia until 2022," Dr Hames said.
"Events such as the Hopman Cup form an important part of the State Government's strategy to grow the value of tourism to $12 billion by 2020."
Multi-session tickets are available now and single session tickets go on sale on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.
