    • Armadale urban renewal creating jobs, housing, schools, parks and retail
    • Affordable housing options with house and land packages for about $300,000
    • Forrestdale Business Park to create 15,000 jobs for the 43,800 residents

Are you looking to buy an affordable house close to job options, schools, public transport, parks, shopping centres and restaurants? Armadale ticks all the boxes.

Planning Minister John Day said Armadale was undergoing a major transformation and was becoming a thriving urban area for West Australians to live, work and socialise.

"Work under way in the area will see the creation of 20,000 jobs and about 18,000 homes on the doorstep of quality schools, parks and commercial opportunities," Mr Day said.

"What we are creating is a community, a suburban area where individuals and families can live close to work and amenities. This provides options for people to walk, ride, catch public transport or drive shorter distances, moving cars off our major roads and easing congestion."

Armadale is 30 kilometres from the CBD, close to Haynes and Armadale shopping centres and has easy access to the train station, Tonkin Highway and the Forrestdale Business Park.

Housing Minister Colin Holt said new developments in Armadale were providing affordable housing options for Perth families, couples, singles and empty nesters.

"West Australians can buy a 3x2 home for about $300,000 in the new Sienna Wood housing development in the suburbs of Hilbert and Haynes," Mr Holt said.

"A percentage of the house and land packages and single lots for sale within the estate will be delivered below the median price, with land valued between $132,750 and $245,000. The current median house price in Perth is $547,000 so options such as Sienna Wood make it significantly more achievable for people to own their own home."

Forrestdale Business Park has attracted private sector investment of $275 million with Bunnings and Masters building stores, and Hitachi constructing its new headquarters.

"Once complete, the park will create jobs for 15,000 people. Armadale is a great example of how the State Government is co-locating housing and employment to create a more compact and consolidated city, in line with State planning policies," Mr Day said.
