  • $23,200 awarded to six organisations for young people’s projects

Football skills development for young at-risk people; a school activities project; and a ‘Road Trip to End Poverty’; are among the innovative programs being supported by the State Government in the latest round of Youth Activities Grants.

Youth Minister Robyn McSweeney announced today that six organisations across Western Australia would share in $23,200 to support projects for young people.

“The Youth Activities Grants program is an important part of the State Government’s youth strategy, providing annual funding of $200,000 to support projects that encourage young people to participate in their communities,” Mrs McSweeney said.

“These projects make a variety of activities available to young people, including arts and sport and others which increase active citizenship and impart new life skills.

“Young people taking part in these projects have an opportunity to broaden their outlook, contribute to their local community and make new friends.

Mrs McSweeney encouraged eligible organisations to consider applying for funding under the Youth Activities Grants Program which can be submitted at any time.

Incorporated not-for-profit organisations, community groups and local government authorities are eligible to apply.
