    Grants for Women encourages equality

    • 2013 Grants for Women program open from January 11 to March 8, 2013
    • Funding of up to $5,000 available to eligible organisations

    The 2013 Grants for Women program has opened, with up to $5,000 available to eligible organisations for projects and activities that encourage the engagement of Western Australian women in the community.

     

    Women’s Interests Minister Robyn McSweeney said funding was available to projects that:

    • strengthened the health and wellbeing of women
    • encouraged women’s economic wellbeing
    • encouraged women’s leadership
    • encouraged women’s sense of safety in the home or community

    “The Grants for Women program is an excellent way for local communities to promote the equality of women,” Mrs McSweeney said.

     

    “I encourage all eligible groups to contact the Department for Communities to discuss their project and apply for one of these grants through the program, which is open until Friday March 8.”

     

    Previous projects funded by the Grants for Women program include the Grief and Loss Group for Aboriginal Women project conducted by Yorgum Aboriginal Corporation and the Senior Women Upload New Skills seminars, by Brunswick Community Resource Centre.

      • an incorporated not-for-profit organisation offering services to women
      • a local government authority offering services to women
      • an unincorporated not-for-profit organisation or community group offering services to women, applying through the auspice of a not-for-profit incorporated body or a local government authority
