Seniors and Volunteering Minister Robyn McSweeney has announced 53 organisations will share in $49,840 of Thank a Volunteer Day Celebration Grants.
The grants are awarded annually to eligible community organisations and local government authorities to hold celebratory events tomorrow on International Volunteer Day, locally known as Thank a Volunteer Day.
“Volunteers are the unsung heroes of our communities, with more than 590,000 West Australians providing billions of dollars of unpaid work hours every year,” Mrs McSweeney said.
“They perform a variety of roles and many of our State’s community groups could not exist without their tireless efforts.
“The State Government is proud to support volunteering and these grants provide an opportunity to recognise the admirable work of WA volunteers.”
