- Minister presents cheque for $228,143 to SIDS and Kids WA
- Grant to go towards information technology upgrade
SIDS and Kids WA received a funding boost today thanks to a State Government Lotterywest grant presented by Community Services Minister Robyn McSweeney.
Mrs McSweeney said the $228,143 grant would go towards an information technology upgrade at the Perth offices of the community-based organisation.
“The upgrade will enable SIDS and Kids WA to improve their bereavement support programs and reach more families been affected by the death of a child,” she said.
“It will also support the organisation to educate more parents about babies’ safe sleeping.”
An estimated 7,500 Australian babies’ lives have been saved since SIDS and Kids WA started its education program.
“The State Government is delighted to support the excellent work SIDS and Kids WA does in Western Australian communities,” the Minister said.
SIDS and Kids WA raises funds for research; endeavours to save the lives of children during pregnancy and childhood; and to support people grieving the death of a child through support and education programs.
Last year more than 1,000 community organisations helped by $117.8m of Lotterywest grants
This year State Govt committed $58.5m to early childhood health services over four years
