Winners announced at Bendigo Bank Seniors Week Festival, November 11
Minister to host finalists’ lunch at Parliament House
Seniors and Volunteering Minister Robyn McSweeney today announced the finalists of the highly anticipated 2012 WA Seniors Awards.
Mrs McSweeney said the prestigious awards, now in their 27th year, paid tribute to the outstanding contributions seniors make to Western Australia’s social, cultural and economic life.
“This year’s finalists are remarkable, not only for their tireless commitment to WA communities, but because of the range and breadth of their dedication,” she said.
“The high number of nominations received and the calibre of the finalists is a credit to our State’s seniors. I congratulate them all for their continued outstanding service.”
Today the Minister will host a seniors awards’ finalist lunch at Parliament House.
Twenty-one finalists were named in five categories. The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on November 11, during the Bendigo Bank Seniors Week Festival, when the Crown Perth 2012 WA Senior of the Year will also be announced.
